(Rom. 1:16)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto
salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the
Greek.” The
gospel of Jesus Christ is not just the biblical account of Jesus’ life, death,
and resurrection, but it’s also the power behind our salvation, our walk, and
service for the Lord. 1) God’s gospel calls all men to salvation.
All men, meaning even those who do not believe Him. God
so loved man that He sent His prophets to preach salvation to man long before
He came himself in Christ to show man the way. And so, from the very beginning
of time God has been calling men to repent of sin and trust in Him and His
Word. 2) God’s gospel call is to “whosoever will.”
It’s not just limited to the Jew, but it’s also available to anyone who
desires forgiveness and peace with God. Unfortunately, although all men are
called only a few answer back and find salvation. 3) God’s gospel
calls every Christian to share it. It’s now our job once we’re
saved to preach it and pass it on to the next generation. Our witness makes a
difference, but not sharing the gospel makes us appear as being ashamed.
“Matt. 6:13) “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” The above verse is the ending words of Jesus’s example on of how to pray. In the Lord’s prayer we are first taught to honor and glorify the Father and His Holy Name or (His Person). Then we are commanded to seek His will or (His Purpose) in life. After which, Jesus taught us to (Petition) him for our needs or “ daily bread,” as well as “forgiveness” and “deliverance from evil” when tested, but there is also another aspect of this prayer that most people miss; and that is (His Praise). You see the temptation to do sin or “evil” is as much a part of our daily life as breathing. We are tempted daily to lust, lie, steal, gossip, cheat, become jealous, hate, etc., so we need not just the forgiveness of God, but also His power in faith. Brethren, we have someone in heaven who knows the feel of temptation in the flesh, and his name is Jesu
