(Psalm 119:11,15) "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee... I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways." I wonder how many believers today truly study God's Word? Too many people today are satisfied with only having some electric device that will open up a good Bible program, but never do they hold a real tangible Bible in their hands or mark it up with notes when the Holy Spirit speaks to them during devotions. Too often believers read a verse for the day, or some prewritten devotional, but never do they sit and really study God's Word for themselves as God intended. I'm just old fashioned enough to look back at my 40 years of Bible reading to say that I'm on my 4th Bible, for I have three older Bibles on my book shelf that look like they went through a war (which they did). Each having pages scribbled with notes that go back to a time when God specifically spoke to me about something important during my life. Bibles with tear and coffee stained pages that comforted me during my many years of growing up in the Lord. In the above verse God warns us to read and hide His word in our hearts. How can we do that without studying it? Oh listen, it's not enough to just poses a Bible program on your computer, nor is it enough to just meditate on one verse once in a while. No, as a Christian we need to spend time reading all of God's Word; meditating on the words, and memorizing its verses, for only then will we truly respect the way and will of God, and not practice the sin of this world as we did in our past.
“Matt. 6:13) “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” The above verse is the ending words of Jesus’s example on of how to pray. In the Lord’s prayer we are first taught to honor and glorify the Father and His Holy Name or (His Person). Then we are commanded to seek His will or (His Purpose) in life. After which, Jesus taught us to (Petition) him for our needs or “ daily bread,” as well as “forgiveness” and “deliverance from evil” when tested, but there is also another aspect of this prayer that most people miss; and that is (His Praise). You see the temptation to do sin or “evil” is as much a part of our daily life as breathing. We are tempted daily to lust, lie, steal, gossip, cheat, become jealous, hate, etc., so we need not just the forgiveness of God, but also His power in faith. Brethren, we have someone in heaven who knows the feel of temptation in the flesh, and his name is Jesu
