It's Man That Chooses His Eternity Not God


(Rom. 9:11,13) “For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth; As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.” Because of the above verses, many a scholar have concluded falsely that God choses some men to be saved and others to be damned; Just as He chose Jacob in the above verse over Esau in the book of Genesis, and Israel over Egypt. What a sad commentary to believe that we are nothing more than pawns in the chess game of God, where we have no choice of salvation, nor any choice in changing or determining our future and eternity.  Oh listen, the above verses teach us that God is sovereign and that He can do what He wants, but He is also bound by His Word. God would not teach here that the fate of some is set by God’s unchanging will and then tease man later in scripture and say we do have a choice or freewill in the matter. No, His Word teaches all men that “whosoever will may come,” and that “He desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”  Therefore, if  a man dies and goes to Hell, he goes there of his own free will because in life he chose to reject God’s call and his plan of salvation. God’s only crime therefore is to know beforehand who will be saved and who won’t. God hated the heart Esau because it chose the world over God, while Jacob had a heart after the things of God.

On Earth Peace Toward All Men

(Luke 2:14) “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace , good will toward men.” As we look at (v. 14) again we see that one of the things that the angels wanted the shepherds to know was that “peace” was now available on earth for any man who trusts to Jesus. The Peace of God is an interesting thing because it involves not only a peace that is given to every man at salvation but also a peace that no man can ever take away. Before Christ came there was no real or lasting peace with man on earth. For: 1) The Peace that came down from Heaven was Jesus . God came to this earth even after he witnessed our sin. It was no surprise to God what sis man was capable of, even so, He still sent Jesus to save us. (Rom. 5:8) “God commended his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died or us.” The proof of His love was sending Jesus! 2) It’s now possible to have “Peace” with God through Jesus . The Strengthening Purpose of Time

( Gen 41:41-43) “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt... A nd he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.” When Joseph was introduced to us in chp.37, he was a young inexperienced 17 year old boy, and yet 13 years later God raised him up  to rule the nation of Egypt. So, what made him different ? The Answer : “ Time,” and his faith in God ! You see time is a wonderful teacher; 1) Time strengthens endurance . Endurance and faith can only be strengthened over time. Like exercise, we start out not able to do much but over time we find that we can do more. You see, God allows us to go through the ups and downs of life, to help us gain not only spiritual maturity, but also spiritual abilities.
