(Song of Solomon 8:7) "Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned." In the above verse, Solomon is expressing the strength of a real love between two people who are committed to each other, especially in the Lord. True love is indestructible. 1) True love came from God. God so loved man that he gave man the ability to not just love Him but also his mate in life. (Gen. 2:22) "And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man." That day, God gave a precious gift to Adam. It was someone to complete him, someone like him, from inside him, someone who could share life with, and a love like no other in this world. When Eve was given to Adam it was for life and not just until he found another. That's why Adam said, "therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." 2) True Love came with marriage attached. (25) "And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." God brought the first woman down the aisle to Adam, and He gave her to him with one stipulation, that she be his wife. True love always leads to a commitment. Two, gluing themselves together for life. God commanded Man to lead; Woman to follow and help. True love is not a competition, but a commitment. So, just as Christ committed himself to us in love, so must we be committed to be truly happy and in true love !
“Matt. 6:13) “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” The above verse is the ending words of Jesus’s example on of how to pray. In the Lord’s prayer we are first taught to honor and glorify the Father and His Holy Name or (His Person). Then we are commanded to seek His will or (His Purpose) in life. After which, Jesus taught us to (Petition) him for our needs or “ daily bread,” as well as “forgiveness” and “deliverance from evil” when tested, but there is also another aspect of this prayer that most people miss; and that is (His Praise). You see the temptation to do sin or “evil” is as much a part of our daily life as breathing. We are tempted daily to lust, lie, steal, gossip, cheat, become jealous, hate, etc., so we need not just the forgiveness of God, but also His power in faith. Brethren, we have someone in heaven who knows the feel of temptation in the flesh, and his name is Jesu
